There are many ways to help the animals in foster care; supplies such as dog houses, kennels, toys for dogs and cats, chew bones and treats, food, grooming supplies, and, of course, money to buy the necessary vaccines and medications.  We also are happy to have you come and walk the dogs and pups or play with them in the big exercise pen - this socializes the dogs and pups and helps them become family ready.  We also need foster homes with people who are willing to take the time and make the effort to care for and socialize the animals.  There is a need also for transportation when an animal has been placed in a home in another area.  We have so many wonderful people who help, but there is always a need for more people who are concerned and wish to do more to find good homes for the foster animals.  If you would like to help in any way, please call:

Grooming 

To make the animals look and feel better, we brush and groom them. 
Supplies such as shampoo, brushes, combs are needed.  If a dog looks good,he feels good and there is a better chance that he will be adopted.
We can always use dog houses and kennels, too, as well as collars, leads, and other training supplies.  Chew bones, treats, and toys are
great donations, as the pups especially need toys.

Dog Food

With our foster care program, we can care for up to
fifteen animals at a time.  It takes quite a bit to
feed all the dogs and pups, as you can imagine, and
we need dog and puppy food.  Any companies donating food will have advertisement on our web site as a way of saying "thank you", and individual donations of food will be acknowledged. 
 
Any brand of food is totally acceptable. Go to contact info to make arrangements for pick up or delivery of food.

Foster Care 

SCR has foster care for animals in
St. George, Veyo, Cedar City and
other areas.  We supply the food and
medical care for the animals, and
kennels and dog houses if necessary. 
The foster person is responsible for
daily care of the animal, as far as
feeding and watering, exercising,
walking and socializing the dog or pup.
  We try to fit the animal to the foster
care person, and if there is any
problem, the animal is moved.  No
one is overwhelmed by more animals
than they can comfortably care for,
and the foster person has support and
help any time it is needed.

Donations

Our spay and neuter program and vaccinations are a major expense for SCR.  For these things
we depend on adoption fees, which are flexible, depending on the amount of medical care for the
animals.  These fees do not cover all the expense,so we ask for donations in any amount to cover the costs. 
We will publish monthly the names of those individuals
who donate to Second Chance Ranch, as a public "thank you".  We hope individuals and businesses will help us make a difference
for the animals by sending donations.
